1 John
Chapter 1
GOD IS LIGHTS

5
Now this is the message that we have heard from him and proclaim to you: God is light, 2 and in him there is no darkness at all.
6
If we say, "We have fellowship with him," while we continue to walk in darkness, we lie and do not act in truth.
7
But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of his Son Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
8
If we say, "We are without sin," we deceive ourselves, 3 and the truth is not in us.
9
If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing.
10
If we say, "We have not sinned," we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

2 Peter
Chapter 3
DENIAL OF THE PAROUSIA

9
The Lord does not delay his promise, as some regard "delay," but he is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

17
Therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, be on your guard not to be led into the error of the unprincipled and to fall from your own stability.
18
But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory now and to the day of eternity. (Amen.)

Hebrews
Chapter 3
ISRAEL INFIDELITY A WARNING

7
3 Therefore, as the holy Spirit says: "Oh, that today you would hear his voice,
8
'Harden not your hearts as at the rebellion in the day of testing in the desert,
9
where your ancestors tested and tried me and saw my works
10
for forty years. Because of this I was provoked with that generation and I said, "They have always been of erring heart, and they do not know my ways."
11
As I swore in my wrath, "They shall not enter into my rest."'"
12
Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God.
13
Encourage yourselves daily while it is still "today," so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin.
14
We have become partners of Christ if only we hold the beginning of the reality firm until the end,
15
for it is said: "Oh, that today you would hear his voice: 'Harden not your hearts as at the rebellion.'"
16
Who were those who rebelled when they heard? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt under Moses?
17
With whom was he "provoked for forty years"? Was it not those who had sinned, whose corpses fell in the desert?
18
And to whom did he "swear that they should not enter into his rest," if not to those who were disobedient?
19
And we see that they could not enter for lack of faith.

Hebrews
Chapter 4
THE SABBATH REST
1
Therefore, let us be on our guard while the promise of entering into his rest remains, that none of you seem to have failed.
2
For in fact we have received the good news just as they did. But the word that they heard did not profit them, for they were not united in faith with those who listened.
3
For we who believed enter into (that) rest, just as he has said: "As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter into my rest,'" and yet his works were accomplished at the foundation of the world.
4
For he has spoken somewhere about the seventh day in this manner, "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works";
5
and again, in the previously mentioned place, "They shall not enter into my rest."
6
Therefore, since it remains that some will enter into it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedience,
7
he once more set a day, "today," when long afterwards he spoke through David, as already quoted: "Oh, that today you would hear his voice: 'Harden not your hearts.'"
8
Now if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterwards of another day.
9
Therefore, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God.
10
And whoever enters into God's rest, rests from his own works as God did from his.
11
Therefore, let us strive to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall after the same example of disobedience.
12
Indeed, the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart.
13
No creature is concealed from him, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.
14
1 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.
15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has similarly been tested in every way, yet without sin.
16
So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help.

Romans
Chapter 12
MUTUAL LOVE

9
Let love be sincere; hate what is evil, hold on to what is good;
10
love one another with mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor.
11
Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
12
Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.
13
Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality.
14
6 Bless those who persecute (you), bless and do not curse them.
15
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
16
Have the same regard for one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation.
17
Do not repay anyone evil for evil; be concerned for what is noble in the sight of all.
18
If possible, on your part, live at peace with all.
19
Beloved, do not look for revenge but leave room for the wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."
20
Rather, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head."
21
Do not be conquered by evil but conquer evil with good.

Mark
Chapter 12
THE GREATEST COMMANDMENTS

28
5 One of the scribes, when he came forward and heard them disputing and saw how well he had answered them, asked him, "Which is the first of all the commandments?"
29
Jesus replied, "The first is this: 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone!
30
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.'
31
The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
32
The scribe said to him, "Well said, teacher. You are right in saying, 'He is One and there is no other than he.'
33
And 'to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself' is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34
And when Jesus saw that (he) answered with understanding, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

Chapter 51
EPILOGUE AND CANTICLES
1
1 I give you thanks, O God of my father; I praise you, O God my savior! I will make known your name, refuge of my life;
2
you have been my helper against my adversaries. You have saved me from death, and kept back my body from the pit, From the clutches of the nether world you have snatched my feet;
3
you have delivered me, in your great mercy From the scourge of a slanderous tongue, and from lips that went over to falsehood; From the snare of those who watched for my downfall, and from the power of those who sought my life; From many a danger you have saved me,
4
from flames that hemmed me in on every side; From the midst of unremitting fire,
5
From the deep belly of the nether world; From deceiving lips and painters of lies,
6
from the arrows of dishonest tongues. I was at the point of death, my soul was nearing the depths of the nether world;
7
I turned every way, but there was no one to help me, I looked for one to sustain me, but could find no one.
8
But then I remembered the mercies of the LORD, his kindness through ages past; For he saves those who take refuge in him, and rescues them from every evil.
9
So I raised my voice from the very earth, from the gates of the nether world, my cry.
10
I called out: O Lord, you are my father, you are my champion and my savior; Do not abandon me in time of trouble, in the midst of storms and dangers.
11
I will ever praise your name and be constant in my prayers to you. Thereupon the LORD heard my voice, he listened to my appeal;
12
2 He saved me from evil of every kind and preserved me in time of trouble. For this reason I thank him and I praise him; I bless the name of the LORD.

Psalms
Chapter 117
THE NATIONS CALLED TO PRAISE
1
1 Praise the LORD, all you nations! Give glory, all you peoples!
2
The LORD'S love for us is strong; the LORD is faithful forever. Hallelujah!

Psalms
Chapter 96
GOD OF HE UNIVERSE
1
1 Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2
Sing to the LORD, bless his name; announce his salvation day after day.
3
Tell God's glory among the nations; among all peoples, God's marvelous deeds.
4
2 For great is the LORD and highly to be praised, to be feared above all gods.
5
For the gods of the nations all do nothing, but the LORD made the heavens.
6
Splendor and power go before him; power and grandeur are in his holy place.
7
Give to the LORD, you families of nations, give to the LORD glory and might;
8
give to the LORD the glory due his name! Bring gifts and enter his courts;
9
bow down to the LORD, splendid in holiness. Tremble before God, all the earth;
10
say among the nations: The LORD is king. The world will surely stand fast, never to be moved. God rules the peoples with fairness.

FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17
