BIBLE LIGHTS WORD AGAINST EVILNESS
AND WICKED

Matthew
Chapter 4

THE TEMPTATION OF JESUS CHRIST
1
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
2
He fasted for forty days and forty nights, 2 and afterwards he was hungry.
3
The tempter approached and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread."
4
3 He said in reply, "It is written: 'One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.'"
5
4 Then the devil took him to the holy city, and made him stand on the parapet of the temple,
6
and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you and 'with their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"
7
Jesus answered him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.'"
8
Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence,
9
and he said to him, "All these I shall give to you, if you will prostrate yourself and worship me." 5
10
At this, Jesus said to him, "Get away, Satan! It is written: 'The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.'"
11
Then the devil left him and, behold, angels came and ministered to him.

Mark
Chapter 5

THE HEALING OF THE GERASENE DEMONIAC
1
1 They came to the other side of the sea, to the territory of the Gerasenes.
2
When he got out of the boat, at once a man 2 from the tombs who had an unclean spirit met him.
3
The man had been dwelling among the tombs, and no one could restrain him any longer, even with a chain.
4
In fact, he had frequently been bound with shackles and chains, but the chains had been pulled apart by him and the shackles smashed, and no one was strong enough to subdue him.
5
Night and day among the tombs and on the hillsides he was always crying out and bruising himself with stones.
6
Catching sight of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and prostrated himself before him,
7
crying out in a loud voice, "What have you to do with me, 3 Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me!"
8
(He had been saying to him, "Unclean spirit, come out of the man!")
9
4 He asked him, "What is your name?" He replied, "Legion is my name. There are many of us."
10
And he pleaded earnestly with him not to drive them away from that territory.
11
Now a large herd of swine 5 was feeding there on the hillside.
12
And they pleaded with him, "Send us into the swine. Let us enter them."
13
And he let them, and the unclean spirits came out and entered the swine. The herd of about two thousand rushed down a steep bank into the sea, where they were drowned.
14
The swineherds ran away and reported the incident in the town and throughout the countryside. And people came out to see what had happened.
15
As they approached Jesus, they caught sight of the man who had been possessed by Legion, sitting there clothed and in his right mind. And they were seized with fear.
16
Those who witnessed the incident explained to them what had happened to the possessed man and to the swine.
17
Then they began to beg him to leave their district.
18
As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed pleaded to remain with him.
19
But he would not permit him but told him instead, "Go home 6 to your family and announce to them all that the Lord in his pity has done for you."
20
Then the man went off and began to proclaim in the Decapolis what Jesus had done for him; and all were amazed.

John
Chapter 12

RECAPITULATIONS

44
Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me,
45
and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me.
46
I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness.
47
And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world.
48
Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day,
49
because I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak.
50
And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told me."

Acts
Chapter 28

TESTIMONY TO JEWS IN ROME

25
6 Without reaching any agreement among themselves they began to leave; then Paul made one final statement. "Well did the holy Spirit speak to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah, saying:
26
'Go to this people and say: You shall indeed hear but not understand. You shall indeed look but never see.
27
Gross is the heart of this people; they will not hear with their ears; they have closed their eyes, so they may not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.'
28
Let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen."

Romans
Chapter 1

PUNISHMENT OF IDOLATORS

18
12 The wrath 13 of God 14 is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
19
For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them.
20
Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse;
21
for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened.
22
While claiming to be wise, they became fools
23
and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes.
24
Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts 15 for the mutual degradation of their bodies.
25
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26
Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural,
27
and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity.
28
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper.
29
They are filled with every form of wickedness, evil, greed, and malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, and spite. They are gossips
30
and scandalmongers and they hate God. They are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness, and rebellious toward their parents.
31
They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
32
Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Romans
Chapter 3

UNIVERSAL BONDAGE TO SIN

9
3 Well, then, are we better off? Not entirely, for we have already brought the charge against Jews and Greeks alike that they are all under the domination of sin,
10
as it is written: "There is no one just, not one,
11
there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God.
12
All have gone astray; all alike are worthless; there is not one who does good, (there is not) even one.
13
Their throats are open graves; they deceive with their tongues; the venom of asps is on their lips;
14
their mouths are full of bitter cursing.
15
Their feet are quick to shed blood;
16
ruin and misery are in their ways,
17
and the way of peace they know not.
18
There is no fear of God before their eyes."

2 Thessalonians
Chapter 2

CHRIST AND THE LAWLESS ONE
1
1 We ask you, brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling with him,
2
not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed either by a "spirit," 2 or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand.
3
Let no one deceive you in any way. For unless the apostasy comes first and the lawless one is revealed, 3 the one doomed to perdition,
4
who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god and object of worship, so as to seat himself in the temple of God, 4 claiming that he is a god--
5
do you not recall that while I was still with you I told you these things?
6
And now you know what is restraining, 5 that he may be revealed in his time.
7
6 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. But the one who restrains is to do so only for the present, until he is removed from the scene.
8
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord (Jesus) will kill with the breath of his mouth and render powerless by the manifestation of his coming,
9
the one whose coming springs from the power of Satan in every mighty deed and in signs and wonders that lie,
10
and in every wicked deceit for those who are perishing because they have not accepted the love of truth so that they may be saved.
11
Therefore, God is sending them a deceiving power so that they may believe the lie,
12
that all who have not believed the truth but have approved wrongdoing may be condemned.

THE WICKED REJECTS IMORTALITY AND JUSTICE ALIKE

16
It was the wicked who with hands and words invited death, considered it a friend, and pined for it, and made a covenant with it, Because they deserve to be in its possession,

THE WICKED REJECTS IMORTALITY AND JUSTICE ALIKE

24
But by the envy of the devil, death entered the world, and they who are in his possession experience it.

THE FINAL JUDGEMENT OF THE WICKED

20
Then shall the just one with great assurance confront his oppressors who set at nought his labors.

The Book of Wisdom
Chapter 5

THE FINAL JUDGEMENT OF THE WICKED

2
Seeing this, they shall be shaken with dreadful fear, and amazed at the unlooked-for salvation.
3
They shall say among themselves, rueful and groaning through anguish of spirit: "This is he whom once we held as a laughingstock and as a type for mockery,
4
fools that we were! His life we accounted madness, and his death dishonored.
5
See how he is accounted among the sons of God; how his lot is with the saints!
6
We, then, have strayed from the way of truth, and the light of justice did not shine for us, and the sun did not rise for us.
7
We had our fill of the ways of mischief and of ruin; we journeyed through impassable deserts, but the way of the LORD we knew not.
4 Fearful shall they come, at the counting up of their sins, and their lawless deeds shall convict them to their
face.

23
A mighty wind shall confront them and a tempest winnow them out; Thus lawlessness shall lay the whole earth waste and evildoing overturn the thrones of potentates.

FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17
