Chapter 11

PAUL BOAST HIS LABORS

16
11 12 13 I repeat, no one should consider me foolish; but if you do, accept me as a fool, so that I too may boast a little.
17
What I am saying I am not saying according to the Lord but as in foolishness, in this boastful state.
18
Since many boast according to the flesh, I too will boast.
19
For you gladly put up with fools, since you are wise yourselves.
20
14 For you put up with it if someone enslaves you, or devours you, or gets the better of you, or puts on airs, or slaps you in the face.
21
To my shame I say that we were too weak! 15 But what anyone dares to boast of (I am speaking in foolishness) I also dare.
22
16 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I.
23
17 Are they ministers of Christ? (I am talking like an insane person.) I am still more, 18 with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, far worse beatings, and numerous brushes with death.
24
Five times at the hands of the Jews I received forty lashes minus one.
25
Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I passed a night and a day on the deep;
26
on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my own race, dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among false brothers;
27
in toil and hardship, through many sleepless nights, through hunger and thirst, through frequent fastings, through cold and exposure.
28
And apart from these things, there is the daily pressure upon me of my anxiety for all the churches.
29
Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is led to sin, and I am not indignant?
30
19 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.
31
20 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus knows, he who is blessed forever, that I do not lie.
32
At Damascus, the governor under King Aretas guarded the city of Damascus, in order to seize me,
33
but I was lowered in a basket through a window in the wall and escaped his hands.

2 Corinthians
Chapter 12
PAULS BOAST:  HIS WEAKNESS

1
I 1 must boast; not that it is profitable, but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2
I know someone in Christ who, fourteen years ago (whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows), was caught up to the third heaven.
3
And I know that this person (whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows)
4
was caught up into Paradise and heard ineffable things, which no one may utter.
5
About this person 2 I will boast, but about myself I will not boast, except about my weaknesses.
6
Although if I should wish to boast, I would not be foolish, for I would be telling the truth. But I refrain, so that no one may think more of me than what he sees in me or hears from me
7
because of the abundance of the revelations. Therefore, that I might not become too elated, 3 a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, to beat me, to keep me from being too elated.
8
Three times 4 I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me,
9
5 but he said to me, 6 "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.
10
Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong. 7

1 Timothy
Chapter 6
RULES FOR SLAVES
FALSE TEACHINGS AND TRUE WEALTH

1
1 Those who are under the yoke of slavery must regard their masters as worthy of full respect, so that the name of God and our teaching 2 may not suffer abuse.
2
3 Those whose masters are believers must not take advantage of them because they are brothers but must give better service because those who will profit from their work are believers and are beloved.
3
Whoever teaches something different and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the religious teaching
4
is conceited, understanding nothing, and has a morbid disposition for arguments and verbal disputes. From these come envy, rivalry, insults, evil suspicions,
5
and mutual friction among people with corrupted minds, who are deprived of the truth, supposing religion to be a means of gain.
6
4 Indeed, religion with contentment is a great gain.
7
For we brought nothing into the world, just as we shall not be able to take anything out of it.
8
If we have food and clothing, we shall be content with that.
9
Those who want to be rich are falling into temptation and into a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge them into ruin and destruction.
10
For the love of money is the root of all evils, and some people in their desire for it have strayed from the faith and have pierced themselves with many pains.
11
5 6 But you, man of God, avoid all this. Instead, pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.
12
Compete well for the faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called when you made the noble confession in the presence of many witnesses.
13
I charge (you) before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who gave testimony under Pontius Pilate for the noble confession,
14
to keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ
15
that the blessed and only ruler will make manifest at the proper time, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
16
who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, and whom no human being has seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal power. Amen.
17
7 Tell the rich in the present age not to be proud and not to rely on so uncertain a thing as wealth but rather on God, who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment.
18
Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share,
19
thus accumulating as treasure a good foundation for the future, so as to win the life that is true life.
20
8 O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Avoid profane babbling and the absurdities of so-called knowledge.
21
By professing it, some people have deviated from the faith. Grace be with all of you.

Mark
Chapter 4
THE PURPOSE OF THE PARABLES

10
And when he was alone, those present along with the Twelve questioned him about the parables.
11
4 He answered them, "The mystery of the kingdom of God has been granted to you. But to those outside everything comes in parables,
12
so that 'they may look and see but not perceive, and hear and listen but not understand, in order that they may not be converted and be forgiven.'"

Proverbs
Chapter 10

PROVERBS OF SOLOMON

2
Ill-gotten treasures profit nothing, but virtue saves from death.
3
The LORD permits not the just to hunger, but the craving of the wicked he thwarts.

11
A fountain of life is the mouth of the just, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

12
2 Hatred stirs up disputes, but love covers all offenses.

15
3 The rich man's wealth is his strong city; the ruination of the lowly is their poverty.

18
It is the lips of the liar that conceal hostility; but he who spreads accusations is a fool.

22
4 It is the LORD'S blessing that brings wealth, and no effort can substitute for it.

Proverbs
Chapter 14
THE PROVERBS OF SOLOMON
5
A truthful witness does not lie, but a false witness utters lies.

25
The truthful witness saves lives, but he who utters lies is a betrayer.

Proverbs
Chapter 15

THE PROVERBS OF SOLOMON

7
The lips of the wise disseminate knowledge, but the heart of fools is perverted.

FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
