Divine Mercy can save even ‘the hopeless’

MANILA -– As the second Sunday of Easter approaches, a priest reminded the Catholic faithful of the significance of the observance the devotion to the Divine Mercy and how it can save even those “beyond redemption.”

Quoting from St. Faustina’s diary, Fr. Rolando Arjonillo, a Filipino priest assigned in Seville, Spain, told the faithful: “Even if there were a sinner most hardened, if he were to recite this Chaplet only once, he would receive grace from my infinite mercy.”

According to the priest, who celebrates the English Sunday Masses in the Iglesia del Señor San José church, attended mostly by Filipino, British, American, and Spanish Catholics, this is true even for those who think that they are already “beyond redemption”.

Jesus’ promises

“Jesus promised to those who recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet ‘will receive great mercy at the hour of death’,” Arjonillo said quoting a passage from St. Faustina’s “Diary of Divine Mercy in My Soul”.
Following what the mystic saint revealed to be Jesus’ desire that “the whole world know [Jesus’] infinite mercy” and that priests “recommend the prayer of the Chaplet to sinners”, Arjonillo, as the administrator of the Catholics Striving for Holiness website and Facebook page, designed and shared a video and an infographic to help Catholics prepare themselves for the forthcoming feast of the Divine Mercy on April 23.

Divine Mercy infographic

“The video shows the origin of the Divine Mercy Chaplet prayer and the promises of Jesus to those who recite it. It also explains the origin of the feast of the Divine Mercy and the meaning of the image,” the priest explained.

“The infographic is adorned with the original image of the Divine Mercy painted by Eugeniusz Kazimirowski in 1934. This is this image which was done with Sister Faustina’s instructions and before her death in 1938,” added Arjonillo.

“I cordially invite you to view the Divine Mercy video and infographic at the Catholics Striving for Holiness Facebook page and share them to help more people in their Catholic faith and life,” the priest said. CBCPNews
