1 Corinthians
Chapter 1

PARADOX OF THE CROSS

18
The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19
For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the learning of the learned I will set aside."
20
Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish?
21
9 For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith.
22
For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom,
23
but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,
24
but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25
For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
26
10 Consider your own calling, brothers. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
27
Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong,
28
and God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something,
29
so that no human being might boast 11 before God.
30
It is due to him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, as well as righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,
31
so that, as it is written, "Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord."

Galatians
Chapter 5
FREEDOM FOR SERVICE

16
I say, then: live by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh. 13
17
For the flesh has desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you may not do what you want.
18
But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19
14 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: immorality, impurity, licentiousness,
20
idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness, dissensions, factions,
21
occasions of envy, 15 drinking bouts, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22
In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness,
23
gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24
Now those who belong to Christ (Jesus) have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires.
25
If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit.
26
Let us not be conceited, provoking one another, envious of one another.

Ephesians
Chapter 5
DUTY TO LIVE IN THE LIGHTS
1
So be imitators of God, 1 as beloved children,
2
and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.
3
Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among holy ones,
4
no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving.
5
Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6
Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. 2
7
So do not be associated with them.
8
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light,
9
for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.
10
Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
11
Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,
12
for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;
13
but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
14
for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says: "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light." 3
15
4 Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise,
16
making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil.
17
Therefore, do not continue in ignorance, but try to understand what is the will of the Lord.
18
And do not get drunk on wine, in which lies debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
19
addressing one another (in) psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,
20
giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.

Colossians
Chapter 3
RENUNCIATION OF VICE
5
2 Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry. 3
6
Because of these the wrath of God 4 is coming (upon the disobedient).
7
By these you too once conducted yourselves, when you lived in that way.
8
But now you must put them all away: 5 anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths.
9
Stop lying to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices
10
6 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its creator.
11
Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, 7 slave, free; but Christ is all and in all.
12
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
13
bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.
14
And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.
15
And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful.
16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
17
And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

John
Chapter 1
THE WORD BECOME FLESH
1
1 2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2
He was in the beginning with God.
3
3 All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be
4
through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race;
5
4 the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6
5 A man named John was sent from God.
7
He came for testimony, 6 to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him.
8
He was not the light, but came to testify to the light.
9
The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.
10
He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world did not know him.
11
He came to what was his own, but his own people 7 did not accept him.
12
But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name,
13
8 who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man's decision but of God.
14
And the Word became flesh 9 and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth.
15
10 John testified to him and cried out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.'"
16
From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace, 11
17
because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18
No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God, 12 who is at the Father's side, has revealed him.

Matthew
Chapter 4
THE TEMPTATION OF JESUS
1
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
2
He fasted for forty days and forty nights, 2 and afterwards he was hungry.
3
The tempter approached and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread."
4
3 He said in reply, "It is written: 'One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.'"
5
4 Then the devil took him to the holy city, and made him stand on the parapet of the temple,
6
and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you and 'with their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"
7
Jesus answered him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not put the Lord, your God, to the test.'"
8
Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence,
9
and he said to him, "All these I shall give to you, if you will prostrate yourself and worship me." 5
10
At this, Jesus said to him, "Get away, Satan! It is written: 'The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.'"
11
Then the devil left him and, behold, angels came and ministered to him.

Matthew
Chapter 10

COURAGE UNDER PERSECUTIONS

32
14 Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.
33
But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.

Luke
Chapter 12

DEPENDENCE ON GOD

22
He said to (his) disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life and what you will eat, or about your body and what you will wear.
23
For life is more than food and the body more than clothing.
24
Notice the ravens: they do not sow or reap; they have neither storehouse nor barn, yet God feeds them. How much more important are you than birds!
25
Can any of you by worrying add a moment to your lifespan?
26
If even the smallest things are beyond your control, why are you anxious about the rest?
27
Notice how the flowers grow. They do not toil or spin. But I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of them.
28
If God so clothes the grass in the field that grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?
29
As for you, do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not worry anymore.
30
All the nations of the world seek for these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31
Instead, seek his kingdom, and these other things will be given you besides.

2 Corinthians
Chapter 1
THANKSGIVING OF ST. PAUL
1
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God that is in Corinth, with all the holy ones throughout Achaia:
2
grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all encouragement, 2
4
who encourages us in our every affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God.
5
For as Christ's sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ 3 does our encouragement also overflow.
6
If we are afflicted, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer.
7
Our hope for you is firm, for we know that as you share in the sufferings, you also share in the encouragement. 4
8
We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, of the affliction that came to us in the province of Asia; 5we were utterly weighed down beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.
9
Indeed, we had accepted within ourselves the sentence of death, 6 that we might trust not in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.
10
He rescued us from such great danger of death, and he will continue to rescue us; in him we have put our hope (that) he will also rescue us again,
11
as you help us with prayer, so that thanks may be given by many on our behalf for the gift granted us through the prayers of many.

THE WISDOM BOOKS AND EVANGELIZATIONS

Psalms
Chapter 22

THE PRAYER OF AN INNOCENT PERSON

28
All the ends of the earth will worship and turn to the LORD; All the families of nations will bow low before you.
29
For kingship belongs to the LORD, the ruler over the nations.

Psalms
Chapter 27
TRUST IN GOD
1
Of David 1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom do I fear? The LORD is my life's refuge; of whom am I afraid?
2
2 When evildoers come at me to devour my flesh, These my enemies and foes themselves stumble and fall.
3
Though an army encamp against me, my heart does not fear; Though war be waged against me, even then do I trust.
4
One thing I ask of the LORD; this I seek: To dwell in the LORD'S house all the days of my life, To gaze on the LORD'S beauty, to visit his temple.

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7

HEBREWS 4:7
"KAPAG NARINING NINYO ANG TINIG NG DIYOS, HUWAG MAGING MATIGAS ANG INYONG ULO."
