Chapter 14

14 They led Jesus away to the high priest, and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together.

Peter followed him at a distance into the high priest's courtyard and was seated with the guards, warming himself at the fire.
55
The chief priests and the entire Sanhedrin kept trying to obtain testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death, but they found none.
56
Many gave false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree.
57
15 Some took the stand and testified falsely against him, alleging,
58
"We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands and within three days I will build another not made with hands.'"
59
Even so their testimony did not agree.
60
The high priest rose before the assembly and questioned Jesus, saying, "Have you no answer? What are these men testifying against you?"
61
16 But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, "Are you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?"
62
Then Jesus answered, "I am; and 'you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.'"

At that the high priest tore his garments and said, "What further need have we of witnesses?
64
You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as deserving to die.

Some began to spit on him. They blindfolded him and struck him and said to him, "Prophesy!" And the guards greeted him with blows.



Luke
Chapter 10

12 13 About eight days after he said this, he took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray.

While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white.

And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah, 14

15 who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem.

Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw his glory 16 and the two men standing with him.

As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, 17 one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." But he did not know what he was saying.

18 While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud.
35
19 Then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my chosen Son; listen to him."
36
After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They fell silent and did not at that time 20 tell anyone what they had seen.



Luke
Chapter 9
1
1 After this the Lord appointed seventy (-two) 2 others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit.

He said to them, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.
3
Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.
4
3 Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals; and greet no one along the way.
5
Into whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this household.' 4
6
If a peaceful person 5 lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.
7
Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves his payment. Do not move about from one house to another.
8
Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you,
9
cure the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God is at hand for you.'
10
Whatever town you enter and they do not receive you, go out into the streets and say,
11
'The dust of your town that clings to our feet, even that we shake off against you.' Yet know this: the kingdom of God is at hand.
12
I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom on that day than for that town.

The holy people and blameless race--it was she who delivered them from the nation that oppressed them.

11 She entered the soul of the LORD'S servant, and withstood fearsome kings with signs and portents;

she gave the holy ones the recompense of their labors, Conducted them by a wondrous road, and became a shelter for them by day and a starry flame by night.

She took them across the Red Sea and brought them through the deep waters--

12 But their enemies she overwhelmed, and cast them up from the bottom of the depths.

Therefore the just despoiled the wicked; and they sang, O LORD, your holy name
21
Because Wisdom opened the mouths of the dumb, and gave ready speech to infants.


Pinalaya ng Karunungan ang mga Israelita
15Ang Karunungan din ang nagpalaya sa isang lahing walang sala at malapit sa Diyos.
Hinango sila sa bansang umalipin sa kanila.
16Pumasok ang Karunungan sa diwa ng isang lingkod ng Panginoon.
Kaya't hinarap nito ang mababagsik na hari sa pamamagitan ng mga himala at kababalaghan.
17Ginantimpalaan niya ang paghihirap ng bayang pinili,
at pinatnubayan sa isang kagila-gilalas na paglalakbay.
Nililiman niya sila kung araw at tinanglawan kung gabi.
18Pinangunahan niya sila sa pagtawid
sa malalim na tubig ng Dagat na Pula.
19Ngunit nilunod niya ang kanilang mga kaaway
at ibinulusok sa pusod ng dagat.
20Kaya sinamsaman ng mga banal ang masasama,
at umawit po sila ng parangal sa banal mong pangalan, O Panginoon.
Pinuri nila ang iyong makapangyarihang kamay.
21Binuksan ng Karunungan ang bibig ng mga pipi,
at maging ang mga sanggol ay matatas na nakapagsalita.
