MYSTICAL DEATH AND RESURRECTIONS
THE JUDGEMENT OF THE NATIONS MATTHEW 25:1-26
Chapter 13
- 1
- 1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues 2 but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
- 2
- And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
- 3
- If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
- 4
- 3 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
- 5
- it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
- 6
- it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
- 7
- It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- 8
- 4 Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
- 9
- For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
- 10
- but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
- 11
- When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
- 12
- At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.
- 13
- 5 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Chapter 5
- 1
- So be imitators of God, 1 as beloved children,
- 2
- and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.
- 3
- Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among holy ones,
- 4
- no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving.
- 5
- Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
- 6
- Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. 2
- 7
- So do not be associated with them.
- 8
- For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light,
- 9
- for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.
- 10
- Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
- 11
- Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,
- 12
- for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;
- 13
- but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
- 14
- for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says: "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light." 3
- 15
- 4 Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise,
- 16
- making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil.
- 17
- Therefore, do not continue in ignorance, but try to understand what is the will of the Lord.
- 18
- And do not get drunk on wine, in which lies debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
- 19
- addressing one another (in) psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,
- 20
- giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.
Chapter 4
- 29
- No foul language should come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for needed edification, that it may impart grace to those who hear.
- 30
- And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption. 13
- 31
- All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice.
- 32
- (And) be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.
Colossians
Chapter 3
MYSTICAL DEATH AND RESURRECTIONS
RENUNCIATION OF VICE
- 1
- 1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
- 2
- Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.
- 3
- For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
- 4
- When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.
- 5
- 2 Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry. 3
- 6
- Because of these the wrath of God 4 is coming (upon the disobedient).
- 7
- By these you too once conducted yourselves, when you lived in that way.
- 8
- But now you must put them all away: 5 anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths.
- 9
- Stop lying to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices
- 10
- 6 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its creator.
- 11
- Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, 7 slave, free; but Christ is all and in all.
- 12
- Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
- 13
- bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.
- 14
- And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.
- 15
- And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful.
- 16
- Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
- 17
- And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Chapter 25
- 31
- 14 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne,
- 32
- and all the nations 15 will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
- 33
- He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
- 34
- Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
- 35
- For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me,
- 36
- naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.'
- 37
- Then the righteous 16 will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
- 38
- When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
- 39
- When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?'
- 40
- And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'
- 41
- 17 Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
- 42
- For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
- 43
- a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.'
- 44
- 18 Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?'
- 45
- He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.'
- 46
- And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
THE WISDOM BOOKS AND PROPHETIC BOOKS
Chapter 14
- 1
- 1 For the leader. Of David. 2 Fools say in their hearts, "There is no God." Their deeds are loathsome and corrupt; not one does what is right.
- 2
- The LORD looks down from heaven upon the human race, To see if even one is wise, if even one seeks God.
- 3
- All have gone astray; all alike are perverse. Not one does what is right, not even one.
- 4
- Will these evildoers never learn? They devour my people as they devour bread; they do not call upon the LORD.
- 5
- They have good reason, then, to fear; God is with the company of the just.
- 6
- They would crush the hopes of the poor, but the poor have the LORD as their refuge.
- 7
- 3 Oh, that from Zion might come the deliverance of Israel, That Jacob may rejoice, and Israel be glad when the LORD restores his people!
Chapter 12
- 1
- 1 For the leader; "upon the eighth." A psalm of David.
- 2
- Help, LORD, for no one loyal remains; the faithful have vanished from the human race
- 3
- Those who tell lies to one another speak with deceiving lips and a double heart.
- 4
- May the LORD cut off all deceiving lips, and every boastful tongue,
- 5
- Those who say, "By our tongues we prevail; when our lips speak, who can lord it over us?"
- 6
- "Because they rob the weak, and the needy groan, I will now arise," says the LORD; "I will grant safety to whoever longs for it."
- 7
- 2 The promises of the LORD are sure, silver refined in a crucible, silver purified seven times.
- 8
- LORD, protect us always; preserve us from this generation.
- 9
- On every side the wicked strut; the shameless are extolled by all.
FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE

EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17
