SAUL'S CONVERSION Acts Chapter 9:1-22
Chapter 6
Chapter 7
- 21
- "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, 10 but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.
- 22
- Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?'
- 23
- Then I will declare to them solemnly, 'I never knew you. 11 Depart from me, you evildoers.'
Chapter 16
- 1
- 1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came and, to test him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
- 2
- 2 He said to them in reply, "(In the evening you say, 'Tomorrow will be fair, for the sky is red';
- 3
- and, in the morning, 'Today will be stormy, for the sky is red and threatening.' You know how to judge the appearance of the sky, but you cannot judge the signs of the times.)
- 4
- An evil and unfaithful generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah." 3 Then he left them and went away.
Chapter 9
- 18
- 13 While he was saying these things to them, an official 14 came forward, knelt down before him, and said, "My daughter has just died. But come, lay your hand on her, and she will live."
- 19
- Jesus rose and followed him, and so did his disciples.
- 20
- A woman suffering hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the tassel 15 on his cloak.
- 21
- She said to herself, "If only I can touch his cloak, I shall be cured."
- 22
- Jesus turned around and saw her, and said, "Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you." And from that hour the woman was cured.
- 23
- When Jesus arrived at the official's house and saw the flute players and the crowd who were making a commotion,
- 24
- he said, "Go away! The girl is not dead but sleeping." 16 And they ridiculed him.
- 25
- When the crowd was put out, he came and took her by the hand, and the little girl arose.
- 26
- And news of this spread throughout all that land.
Chapter 2
- 1
- 1 2 When Jesus returned to Capernaum after some days, it became known that he was at home.
- 2
- Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them, not even around the door, and he preached the word to them.
- 3
- They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.
- 4
- Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd, they opened up the roof above him. After they had broken through, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
- 5
- 3 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."
- 6
- 4 Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves,
- 7
- "Why does this man speak that way? 5 He is blaspheming. Who but God alone can forgive sins?"
- 8
- Jesus immediately knew in his mind what they were thinking to themselves, so he said, "Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?
- 9
- Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise, pick up your mat and walk'?
- 10
- 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth"--
- 11
- he said to the paralytic, "I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home."
- 12
- He rose, picked up his mat at once, and went away in the sight of everyone. They were all astounded and glorified God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this."
Chapter 17
- 1
- He said to his disciples, "Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur.
- 2
- It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.
- 3
- Be on your guard! 1 If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
- 4
- And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry,' you should forgive him."
Chapter 18
- 35
- Now as he approached Jericho a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging,
- 36
- and hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what was happening.
- 37
- They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."
- 38
- He shouted, "Jesus, Son of David, 8 have pity on me!"
- 39
- The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, "Son of David, have pity on me!"
- 40
- Then Jesus stopped and ordered that he be brought to him; and when he came near, Jesus asked him,
- 41
- "What do you want me to do for you?" He replied, "Lord, please let me see."
- 42
- Jesus told him, "Have sight; your faith has saved you."
- 43
- He immediately received his sight and followed him, giving glory to God. When they saw this, all the people gave praise to God.
Chapter 9
- 1
- 1 Now Saul, still breathing murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
- 2
- and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, that, if he should find any men or women who belonged to the Way, 2 he might bring them back to Jerusalem in chains.
- 3
- On his journey, as he was nearing Damascus, a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him.
- 4
- He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?"
- 5
- He said, "Who are you, sir?" The reply came, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
- 6
- Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do."
- 7
- The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, for they heard the voice but could see no one.
- 8
- Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing; 3 so they led him by the hand and brought him to Damascus.
- 9
- For three days he was unable to see, and he neither ate nor drank.
- 10
- There was a disciple in Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias." He answered, "Here I am, Lord."
- 11
- The Lord said to him, "Get up and go to the street called Straight and ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is there praying,
- 12
- and (in a vision) he has seen a man named Ananias come in and lay (his) hands on him, that he may regain his sight."
- 13
- But Ananias replied, "Lord, I have heard from many sources about this man, what evil things he has done to your holy ones 4 in Jerusalem.
- 14
- And here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison all who call upon your name."
- 15
- But the Lord said to him, "Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before Gentiles, kings, and Israelites,
- 16
- and I will show him what he will have to suffer for my name."
- 17
- So Ananias went and entered the house; laying his hands on him, he said, "Saul, my brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus who appeared to you on the way by which you came, that you may regain your sight and be filled with the holy Spirit."
- 18
- Immediately things like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. He got up and was baptized,
- 19
- and when he had eaten, he recovered his strength. 5 He stayed some days with the disciples in Damascus,
- 20
- and he began at once to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. 6
- 21
- All who heard him were astounded and said, "Is not this the man who in Jerusalem ravaged those who call upon this name, and came here expressly to take them back in chains to the chief priests?"
- 22
- But Saul grew all the stronger and confounded (the) Jews who lived in Damascus, proving that this is the Messiah.
THE WISDOM BOOKS AND EVANGELIZATIONS
Chapter 22
- 1
- A good name is more desirable than great riches, and high esteem, than gold and silver.
Chapter 7
- 24
- For Wisdom is mobile beyond all motion, and she penetrates and pervades all things by reason of her purity.
- 25
- For she is an aura of the might of God and a pure effusion of the glory of the Almighty; therefore nought that is sullied enters into her.
- 26
- For she is the refulgence of eternal light, the spotless mirror of the power of God, the image of his goodness.
Chapter 33
- 1
- No evil can harm the man who fears the LORD; through trials, again and again he is safe.
- 14
- As evil contrasts with good, and death with life, so are sinners in contrast with the just;
Chapter 34
TRUST IN THE LORD AND NOT IN DREAMS
- 14
- He who fears the LORD is never alarmed, never afraid; for the LORD is his hope.
- 15
- Happy the soul that fears the LORD! In whom does he trust, and who is his support?
- 16
- The eyes of the LORD are upon those who love him; he is their mighty shield and strong support, A shelter from the heat, a shade from the noonday sun, a guard against stumbling, a help against falling.
FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE

EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17
