Chapter 1
- 26
- Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural,
- 27
- and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity.
- 28
- And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper.
- 29
- They are filled with every form of wickedness, evil, greed, and malice; full of envy, murder, rivalry, treachery, and spite. They are gossips
- 30
- and scandalmongers and they hate God. They are insolent, haughty, boastful, ingenious in their wickedness, and rebellious toward their parents.
- 31
- They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
- 32
- Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.
Chapter 2
- 2
- For if a man with gold rings on his fingers and in fine clothes comes into your assembly, and a poor person in shabby clothes also comes in,
- 3
- and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say, "Sit here, please," while you say to the poor one, "Stand there," or "Sit at my feet,"
- 4
- have you not made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil designs? 2
- 5
- Listen, my beloved brothers. Did not God choose those who are poor 3 in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he promised to those who love him?
- 6
- But you dishonored the poor person. Are not the rich oppressing you? And do they themselves not haul you off to court?
- 7
- Is it not they who blaspheme the noble name that was invoked over you?
- 8
- However, if you fulfill the royal 4 law according to the scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well.
- 9
- But if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
- 10
- For whoever keeps the whole law, but falls short in one particular, has become guilty in respect to all of it.
- 11
- For he who said, "You shall not commit adultery," also said, "You shall not kill." Even if you do not commit adultery but kill, you have become a transgressor of the law.
- 12
- So speak and so act as people who will be judged by the law of freedom. 5
- 13
- For the judgment is merciless to one who has not shown mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
Chapter 4
- 11
- Do not speak evil of one another, brothers. Whoever speaks evil of a brother or judges his brother speaks evil of the law and judges the law. 6 If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
- 12
- There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to judge your neighbor?
Chapter 13
- 8
- 2 Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- 9
- The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this saying, (namely) "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
- 10
- Love does no evil to the neighbor; hence, love is the fulfillment of the law.
- 11
- 3 And do this because you know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed;
- 12
- the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness (and) put on the armor of light;
- 13
- let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, 4 not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and jealousy.
- 14
- But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.
Chapter 3
- 1
- 1 What advantage is there then in being a Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision?
- 2
- Much, in every respect. (For) in the first place, they were entrusted with the utterances of God.
- 3
- What if some were unfaithful? Will their infidelity nullify the fidelity of God?
- 4
- Of course not! God must be true, though every human being is a liar, 2 as it is written: "That you may be justified in your words, and conquer when you are judged."
- 5
- But if our wickedness provides proof of God's righteousness, what can we say? Is God unjust, humanly speaking, to inflict his wrath?
- 6
- Of course not! For how else is God to judge the world?
- 7
- But if God's truth redounds to his glory through my falsehood, why am I still being condemned as a sinner?
- 8
- And why not say--as we are accused and as some claim we say--that we should do evil that good may come of it? Their penalty is what they deserve.
Chapter 5
- 16
- I say, then: live by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh. 13
- 17
- For the flesh has desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you may not do what you want.
- 18
- But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
- 19
- 14 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: immorality, impurity, licentiousness,
- 20
- idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness, dissensions, factions,
- 21
- occasions of envy, 15 drinking bouts, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
- 22
- In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness,
- 23
- gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
- 24
- Now those who belong to Christ (Jesus) have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires.
- 25
- If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit.
- 26
- Let us not be conceited, provoking one another, envious of one another.
Chapter 1
STEADFASTNESS IN FAITH
- 27
- 12 Only, conduct yourselves in a way worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear news of you, that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind struggling together for the faith of the gospel,
- 28
- not intimidated in any way by your opponents. This is proof to them of destruction, but of your salvation. And this is God's doing.
- 29
- For to you has been granted, for the sake of Christ, not only to believe in him but also to suffer for him.
- 30
- Yours is the same struggle as you saw in me and now hear about me.
Chapter 2
- 13
- But we ought to give thanks to God for you always, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits 7 for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in truth.
- 14
- To this end he has (also) called you through our gospel to possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- 15
- Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. 8
- 16
- May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace,
- 17
- encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word.
Chapter 4
- 1
- 1 What then can we say that Abraham found, our ancestor according to the flesh?
- 2
- 2 Indeed, if Abraham was justified on the basis of his works, he has reason to boast; but this was not so in the sight of God.
- 3
- For what does the scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." 3
- 4
- A worker's wage is credited not as a gift, but as something due.
- 5
- But when one does not work, yet believes in the one who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness.
- 6
- So also David declares the blessedness of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
- 7
- "Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered.
- 8
- Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not record."
- 9
- Does this blessedness 4 apply only to the circumcised, or to the uncircumcised as well? Now we assert that "faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness."
- 10
- Under what circumstances was it credited? Was he circumcised or not? He was not circumcised, but uncircumcised.
- 11
- And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal on the righteousness received through faith while he was uncircumcised. Thus he was to be the father of all the uncircumcised who believe, so that to them (also) righteousness might be credited,
- 12
- as well as the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised, but also follow the path of faith that our father Abraham walked while still uncircumcised.
Chapter 3
- 10
- In this way, the children of God and the children of the devil are made plain; no one who fails to act in righteousness belongs to God, nor anyone who does not love his brother.
- 11
- 5 For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: we should love one another,
- 12
- unlike Cain who belonged to the evil one and slaughtered his brother. Why did he slaughter him? Because his own works were evil, and those of his brother righteous.
Chapter 1
- 17
- Now if you invoke as Father him who judges impartially according to each one's works, conduct yourselves with reverence during the time of your sojourning,

THE LORD OF MAJESTY ACCLAIMED THE KING OF THE WORLD
Psalms
Chapter 47
Psalms
Chapter 75
Chapter 29
- 1
- 1 A psalm of David. 2 Give to the LORD, you heavenly beings, give to the LORD glory and might;
- 2
- Give to the LORD the glory due God's name. Bow down before the LORD'S holy splendor!
Chapter 47
THE RULER OF ALL NATIONS
- 8
- God is king over all the earth; sing hymns of praise.
- 9
- God rules over the nations; God sits upon his holy throne.
- 10
- The princes of the peoples assemble with the people of the God of Abraham. For the rulers of the earth belong to God, who is enthroned on high.
Chapter 75
GOD THE JUDGE OF THE WORLD
- 5
- 3 So I say to the boastful: "Do not boast!" to the wicked: "Do not raise your horns!
- 6
- Do not raise your horns against heaven! Do not speak arrogantly against the Rock!"
- 7
- For judgment comes not from east or from west, not from the desert or from the mountains,
- 8
- But from God who decides, who brings some low and raises others high.

EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
