MESSAGE OF GOD
"GOD IS LOVE"
Chapter 4
GOD IS LOVE
- 7
- 3 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God.
- 8
- Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.
- 9
- In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him.
- 10
- In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.
- 11
- Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another.
- 12
- No one has ever seen God. Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us.
- 13
- 4 This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us of his Spirit.
- 14
- Moreover, we have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as savior of the world.
- 15
- Whoever acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God.
- 16
- We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.
- 17
- In this is love brought to perfection among us, that we have confidence on the day of judgment because as he is, so are we in this world.
- 18
- There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.
- 19
- We love because he first loved us.
- 20
- If anyone says, "I love God," but hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love a brother whom he has seen cannot love God 5 whom he has not seen.
- 21
- This is the commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
Chapter 3
LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER
- 11
- 5 For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: we should love one another,
- 12
- unlike Cain who belonged to the evil one and slaughtered his brother. Why did he slaughter him? Because his own works were evil, and those of his brother righteous.
- 13
- Do not be amazed, (then,) brothers, if the world hates you.
- 14
- We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers. Whoever does not love remains in death.
- 15
- Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.
- 16
- The way we came to know love was that he laid down his life for us; so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
- 17
- If someone who has worldly means sees a brother in need and refuses him compassion, how can the love of God remain in him?
- 18
- Children, let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth.
Chapter 13
- 1
- 1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues 2 but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
- 2
- And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
- 3
- If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
- 4
- 3 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
- 5
- it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
- 6
- it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
- 7
- It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- 8
- 4 Love never fails. If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing.
- 9
- For we know partially and we prophesy partially,
- 10
- but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
- 11
- When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I put aside childish things.
- 12
- At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known.
- 13
- 5 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Chapter 15
- 1
- 1 2 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower.
- 2
- He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes 3 so that it bears more fruit.
- 3
- You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you.
- 4
- Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.
- 5
- I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.
- 6
- 4 Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned.
- 7
- If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you.
- 8
- By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.
- 9
- As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.
- 10
- If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.
- 11
- "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
- 12
- This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
- 13
- 5 No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.
- 14
- You are my friends if you do what I command you.
- 15
- I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, 6 because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
- 16
- It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
- 17
- This I command you: love one another.
Chapter 13
THE NEW COMMANDMENTS
- 31
- 10 11 When he had left, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
- 32
- (If God is glorified in him,) God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him at once.
- 33
- My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. You will look for me, and as I told the Jews, 'Where I go you cannot come,' so now I say it to you.
- 34
- I give you a new commandment: 12 love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.
- 35
- This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
- 36
- Simon Peter said to him, "Master, where are you going?" Jesus answered (him), "Where I am going, you cannot follow me now, though you will follow later."
- 37
- Peter said to him, "Master, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."
- 38
- Jesus answered, "Will you lay down your life for me? Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow before you deny me three times."
Chapter 14
THE ADVOCATE
- 15
- "If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
- 16
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate 8 to be with you always,
- 17
- the Spirit of truth, 9 which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.
- 18
- I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 10
- 19
- In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live.
- 20
- On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.
- 21
- Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him."
- 22
- Judas, not the Iscariot, 11 said to him, "Master, (then) what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"
- 23
- Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.
- 24
- Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me.
- 25
- "I have told you this while I am with you.
- 26
- The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name--he will teach you everything and remind you of all that (I) told you.
- 27
- Peace 12 I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
- 28
- 13 You heard me tell you, 'I am going away and I will come back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.
- 29
- And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.
- 30
- I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world 14 is coming. He has no power over me,
- 31
- but the world must know that I love the Father and that I do just as the Father has commanded me. Get up, let us go.
Chapter 10
- 25
- 10 There was a scholar of the law 11 who stood up to test him and said, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
- 26
- Jesus said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?"
- 27
- He said in reply, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
- 28
- He replied to him, "You have answered correctly; do this and you will live."
- 29
- But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
- 30
- Jesus replied, "A man fell victim to robbers as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half-dead.
- 31
- 12 A priest happened to be going down that road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
- 32
- Likewise a Levite came to the place, and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
- 33
- But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him was moved with compassion at the sight.
- 34
- He approached the victim, poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them. Then he lifted him up on his own animal, took him to an inn and cared for him.
- 35
- The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction, 'Take care of him. If you spend more than what I have given you, I shall repay you on my way back.'
- 36
- Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers' victim?"
- 37
- He answered, "The one who treated him with mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
Chapter 113
- 1
- Hallelujah! 1 Praise, you servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
- 2
- Blessed be the name of the LORD both now and forever.
- 3
- From the rising of the sun to its setting let the name of the LORD be praised.
- 4
- High above all nations is the LORD; above the heavens God's glory.
- 5
- Who is like the LORD, our God enthroned on high,
- 6
- looking down on heaven and earth?
- 7
- The LORD raises the needy from the dust, lifts the poor from the ash heap,
- 8
- Seats them with princes, the princes of the people,
- 9
- Gives the childless wife a home, the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah!

EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
17Sa
HEBREWS 4:7
"KAPAG NARINING NINYO ANG TINIG NG DIYOS, HUWAG MAGING MATIGAS ANG INYONG ULO."
