35like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth.
36Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”
37During the day, Jesus was teaching in the temple area, but at night he would leave and stay at the place called the Mount of Olives.
38And all the people would get up early each morning to listen to him in the temple area.

1 Thessalonians
Chapter 5:1-11
Vigilance
1Concerning times and seasons, brothers, you have no need for anything to be written to you.
2For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night.
3When people are saying,
“Peace and security,” then sudden disaster comes upon them, like labor
pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
5For all of you are children of the light* and children of the day. We are not of the night or of darkness.
6Therefore, let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us stay alert and sober.
7Those who sleep go to sleep at night, and those who are drunk get drunk at night.
8But since we are of the
day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and
the helmet that is hope for salvation.
9For God did not destine us for wrath, but to gain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him.
11Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you do.
Romans
Chapter 10:5-21
Salvation is for All
5 Moses writes about the righteousness that comes from [the] law, “The one who does these things will live by them.”
6But the righteousness that comes from faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will go up into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down)
7 or ‘Who will go down into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
8But what does it say?
“The word is near you,
in your mouth and in your heart”
(that is, the word of faith that we preach),
9for, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
11For the scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
12For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him.
13For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach?
15And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written,
“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring [the] good news!”
16But not everyone has heeded the good news; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what was heard from us?”
17Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.
18But I ask, did they not hear? Certainly they did; for
“Their voice has gone forth to all the earth,
and their words to the ends of the world.”
19But I ask, did not Israel understand?r First Moses says:
“I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation;
with a senseless nation I will make you angry.”
20 Then Isaiah speaks boldly and says:
“I was found [by] those who were not seeking me;
I revealed myself to those who were not asking for me.”
21But regarding Israel he says, “All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contentious people.”
6But the righteousness that comes from faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will go up into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down)
7 or ‘Who will go down into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”
8But what does it say?

Chapter 18:18-23
The Rich Official
18 An official asked him this question, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
19Jesus answered him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.
20You know the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; honor your father and your mother.’”
21And he replied, “All of these I have observed from my youth.”
22 When Jesus heard this he said to him, “There is still one thing left for you: sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
23But when he heard this he became quite sad, for he was very rich.
Chapter 11:25-29
God’s Irrevocable Call
25I do not want you to be
unaware of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not become wise [in]
your own estimation: a hardening has come upon Israel in part, until
the full number of the Gentiles comes in,
26and thus all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The deliverer will come out of Zion,
he will turn away godlessness from Jacob;
27and this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”
28In respect to the gospel, they are enemies on your account; but in respect to election, they are beloved because of the patriarchs.
29For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.
4Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!
5Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near.
6Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.
7Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
9Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me.h Then the God of peace will be with you.
10I rejoice greatly in the Lord that now at last you revived your concern for me. You were, of course, concerned about me but lacked an opportunity.
11Not that I say this because of need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I find myself, to be self-sufficient.
12I know indeed how to live in humble circumstances; I know also how to live with abundance. In every circumstance and in all things I have learned the secret of being well fed and of going hungry, of living in abundance and of being in need.
13I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.
14Still, it was kind of you to share in my distress.
15You Philippians indeed know that at the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, not a single church shared with me in an account of giving and receiving, except you alone.
16For even when I was at Thessalonica you sent me something for my needs, not only once but more than once.
17It is not that I am eager for the gift; rather, I am eager for the profit that accrues to your account.
18I have received full payment and I abound. I am very well supplied because of what I received from you through Epaphroditus, “a fragrant aroma,” an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
19My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
20To our God and Father, glory forever and ever. Amen.
21Give my greetings to every holy one in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their greetings;
22o all the holy ones send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar’s household.
23The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
26and thus all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The deliverer will come out of Zion,
he will turn away godlessness from Jacob;
27and this is my covenant with them

EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
17Sa
