TEACHING OF FAITH
SPIRITUAL SALVATION'S
MESSAGE OF GOD
"ESPIRITWAL AT BUHAY"

James 1:21

John
Chapter 6:60-71
The Words of Eternal Life

60Then many of his disciples who were listening said, “This saying is hard; who can accept it?”

61Since Jesus knew that his disciples were murmuring about this, he said to them, “Does this shock you?

62What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?

63It is the spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

64But there are some of you who do not believe.” Jesus knew from the beginning the ones who would not believe and the one who would betray him.

65And he said, “For this reason I have told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by my Father.”

66As a result of this, many [of] his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him.

67Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?”

68Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

69We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.”

70Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you twelve? Yet is not one of you a devil?”

71He was referring to Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot; it was he who would betray him, one of the Twelve.

John
Chapter 8:31-59
Jesus and Abraham

31Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,

32and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

33They answered him, “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How can you say, ‘You will become free’?”

34Jesus answered them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.

35A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son always remains.

36So if a son frees you, then you will truly be free.

37I know that you are descendants of Abraham. But you are trying to kill me, because my word has no room among you.

38 I tell you what I have seen in the Father’s presence; then do what you have heard from the Father.”

39 They answered and said to him, “Our father is Abraham. Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works of Abraham.

40But now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God; Abraham did not do this.

41You are doing the works of your father!” [So] they said to him, “We are not illegitimate. We have one Father, God.”

42Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on my own, but he sent me.

43Why do you not understand what I am saying? Because you cannot bear to hear my word.

44You belong to your father the devil and you willingly carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

45But because I speak the truth, you do not believe me.

46Can any of you charge me with sin? If I am telling the truth, why do you not believe me?

47Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not listen, because you do not belong to God.”

48The Jews answered and said to him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and are possessed?”

49Jesus answered, “I am not possessed; I honor my Father, but you dishonor me.

50I do not seek my own glory; there is one who seeks it and he is the one who judges.

51Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps my word will never see death.”

52(So) the Jews said to him, “Now we are sure that you are possessed. Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.’

53Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? Or the prophets, who died? Who do you make yourself out to be?”

54Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is worth nothing; but it is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’

55You do not know him, but I know him. And if I should say that I do not know him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know him and I keep his word.

56Abraham your father rejoiced to see my day; he saw it and was glad.

57So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham?”

58 Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.

59So they picked up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area.

John
Chapter 10:1-21
The Good Shepherd

1 “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever does not enter a sheepfold through the gate but climbs over elsewhere is a thief and a robber.

2But whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.

3The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice, as he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

4 When he has driven out all his own, he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him, because they recognize his voice.

5But they will not follow a stranger; they will run away from him, because they do not recognize the voice of strangers.”

6Although Jesus used this figure of speech, they did not realize what he was trying to tell them.

7 So Jesus said again, “Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the gate for the sheep.

8 All who came [before me] are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.

9I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.

10A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.

11I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

12A hired man, who is not a shepherd and whose sheep are not his own, sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf catches and scatters them.

13This is because he works for pay and has no concern for the sheep.

14I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me,

15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep.

16I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.

17This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again.

18No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own. I have power to lay it down, and power to take it up again. This command I have received from my Father.”

19Again there was a division among the Jews because of these words.

20Many of them said, “He is possessed and out of his mind; why listen to him?”

21Others said, “These are not the words of one possessed; surely a demon cannot open the eyes of the blind, can he?”

Matthew
Chapter 10:34-39
Jesus: A Cause of Division

34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword.

35For I have come to set a man ‘against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;

36and one’s enemies will be those of his household.’

The Conditions of Discipleship.

37 “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;

38and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.

39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

John
Chapter 15:18-27
The World’s Hatred

18“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.

19If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you.

20Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

21And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.

22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but as it is they have no excuse for their sin.

23Whoever hates me also hates my Father.

24If I had not done works among them that no one else ever did, they would not have sin; but as it is, they have seen and hated both me and my Father.

25But in order that the word written in their law might be fulfilled, ‘They hated me without cause.’

26“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me.

27And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

2 Corinthians
Chapter 4:7-18
The Paradox of the Ministry

7 But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.

8 We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair;

9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed;

10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body.

11For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.

13 Since, then, we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed, therefore I spoke,” we too believe and therefore speak,

14knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and place us with you in his presence.

15Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.

16 Therefore, we are not discouraged; rather, although our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

17For this momentary light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,

18as we look not to what is seen but to what is unseen; for what is seen is transitory, but what is unseen is eternal.

James
Chapter 1:19-27
Doers of the Word
19Know this, my dear brothers: everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath,

20for the wrath of a man does not accomplish the righteousness of God.

21Therefore, put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the word that has been planted in you and is able to save your souls.

22Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deluding yourselves.

23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his own face in a mirror.

24He sees himself, then goes off and promptly forgets what he looked like.

25But the one who peers into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres, and is not a hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, such a one shall be blessed in what he does.

26 If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, his religion is vain.

27Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

Chapter 27:1-3
Trust in God

 1 Of David.

A

I
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The LORD is my life’s refuge;
of whom should I be afraid?

2When evildoers come at me
to devour my flesh,
These my enemies and foes
themselves stumble and fall.

3Though an army encamp against me,
my heart does not fear;
Though war be waged against me,
even then do I trust.

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
