The Parable of the Lost Sheep
2but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
3So to them he addressed this parable.
4 “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it?
5And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
6and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’
7I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.

11And do this because you
know the time; it is the hour now for you to awake from sleep. For our
salvation is nearer now than when we first believed;
12the night is advanced, the day is at hand. Let us then throw off the works of darkness [and] put on the armor of light;
13let
us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and
drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and
jealousy.
14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.

8But now you must put them all away: anger, fury, malice, slander, and obscene language out of your mouths.
9Stop lying to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its practices
10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its creator.

there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian,
Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all and in all.
13bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.
14And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.
15And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful.
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
17And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

29But whoever blasphemes against the holy Spirit will never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an everlasting sin.”

Life in the Community of Christ
1Brothers, even if a person is caught in some transgression, you who are spiritual should correct that one in a gentle spirit, looking to yourself, so that you also may not be tempted.
2Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he is deluding himself.
4 Each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason to boast with regard to himself alone, and not with regard to someone else;
5for each will bear his own load.
6 One who is being instructed in the word should share all good things with his instructor.
7Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows,
8because the one who sows for his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows for the spirit will reap eternal life from the spirit.
9Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.
10So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to those who belong to the family of the faith.
