BIBLE LIGHTS PROMOTIONS
"lights of mother mary to the poor and oppressed"
Chapter 5
- 1
- So be imitators of God, 1 as beloved children,
- 2
- and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.
- 3
- Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among holy ones,
- 4
- no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving.
- 5
- Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
- 6
- Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. 2
- 7
- So do not be associated with them.
- 8
- For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light,
- 9
- for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.
- 10
- Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
- 11
- Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,
- 12
- for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;
- 13
- but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
Chapter 4
- 1
- 1 Therefore, since we have this ministry through the mercy shown us, we are not discouraged.
- 2
- Rather, we have renounced shameful, hidden things; not acting deceitfully or falsifying the word of God, but by the open declaration of the truth we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.
- 3
- And even though our gospel is veiled, 2 it is veiled for those who are perishing,
- 4
- in whose case the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they may not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
- 5
- For we do not preach ourselves 3 but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus.
- 6
- 4 For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to bring to light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face of (Jesus) Christ.
- 7
- 5 6 But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.
- 8
- 7 We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair;
- 9
- persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed;
- 10
- 8 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body.
- 11
- For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
- 12
- 9 So death is at work in us, but life in you.
- 13
- 10 Since, then, we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed, therefore I spoke," we too believe and therefore speak,
- 14
- knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and place us with you in his presence.
- 15
- Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God.
Chapter 4
THE PURPOSE OF THE PARABLES
- 13
- 5 Jesus said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand any of the parables?
- 14
- The sower sows the word.
- 15
- These are the ones on the path where the word is sown. As soon as they hear, Satan comes at once and takes away the word sown in them.
- 16
- And these are the ones sown on rocky ground who, when they hear the word, receive it at once with joy.
- 17
- But they have no root; they last only for a time. Then when tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
- 18
- Those sown among thorns are another sort. They are the people who hear the word,
- 19
- but worldly anxiety, the lure of riches, and the craving for other things intrude and choke the word, and it bears no fruit.
- 20
- But those sown on rich soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit thirty and sixty and a hundredfold."
- 26
- He said,"This is how it is with the kingdom of God; 6 it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land
- 27
- and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how.
- 28
- Of its own accord the land yields fruit, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
Chapter 10
THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT
- 25
- 10 There was a scholar of the law 11 who stood up to test him and said, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
- 26
- Jesus said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?"
- 27
- He said in reply, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
- 28
- He replied to him, "You have answered correctly; do this and you will live."
- 29
- But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
- 30
- Jesus replied, "A man fell victim to robbers as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho. They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half-dead.
- 31
- 12 A priest happened to be going down that road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
- 32
- Likewise a Levite came to the place, and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
- 33
- But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him was moved with compassion at the sight.
- 34
- He approached the victim, poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them. Then he lifted him up on his own animal, took him to an inn and cared for him.
- 35
- The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction, 'Take care of him. If you spend more than what I have given you, I shall repay you on my way back.'
- 36
- Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers' victim?"
- 37
- He answered, "The one who treated him with mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
Chapter 6
- 1
- 1 2 After this, Jesus went across the Sea of Galilee (of Tiberias).
- 2
- A large crowd followed him, because they saw the signs he was performing on the sick.
- 3
- Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples.
- 4
- The Jewish feast of Passover was near.
- 5
- 3 When Jesus raised his eyes and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, he said to Philip, "Where can we buy enough food for them to eat?"
- 6
- 4 He said this to test him, because he himself knew what he was going to do.
- 7
- Philip answered him, "Two hundred days' wages 5 worth of food would not be enough for each of them to have a little (bit)."
- 8
- One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him,
- 9
- "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves 6 and two fish; but what good are these for so many?"
- 10
- Jesus said, "Have the people recline." Now there was a great deal of grass 7 in that place. So the men reclined, about five thousand in number.
- 11
- Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were reclining, and also as much of the fish as they wanted.
- 12
- When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples, "Gather the fragments left over, so that nothing will be wasted."
- 13
- So they collected them, and filled twelve wicker baskets 8 with fragments from the five barley loaves that had been more than they could eat.
- 14
- When the people saw the sign he had done, they said, "This is truly the Prophet, 9 the one who is to come into the world."
- 15
- Since Jesus knew that they were going to come and carry him off to make him king, he withdrew again to the mountain alone.
THE WISDOM BOOKS AND EVANGELIZATIONS
Chapter 9
- 8
- The LORD rules forever, has set up a throne for judgment.
- 9
- It is God who governs the world with justice, who judges the peoples with fairness.
- 10
- The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, stronghold in times of trouble.
- 11
- Those who honor your name trust in you; you never forsake those who seek you, LORD.
- 12
- Sing hymns to the LORD enthroned on Zion; proclaim God's deeds among the nations!
- 13
- For the avenger of bloodshed remembers, does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
- 18
- To Sheol the wicked will depart, all the nations that forget God.
- 19
- The needy will never be forgotten, nor will the hope of the afflicted ever fade.
- 20
- Arise, LORD, let no mortal prevail; let the nations be judged in your presence.
- 21
- Strike them with terror, LORD; show the nations they are mere mortals. Selah
Chapter 14
LAMENT OVER WIDE SPREAD CORRUPTIONS
- 6
- They would crush the hopes of the poor, but the poor have the LORD as their refuge.
Chapter 19
GODS GLORY IN THE HEAVEN AND IN THE LAW
- 8
- The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The decree of the LORD is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple.
- 9
- The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart. The command of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eye.
- 10
- The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The statutes of the LORD are true, all of them just;
- 11
- More desirable than gold, than a hoard of purest gold, Sweeter also than honey or drippings from the comb.
- 12
- 4 By them your servant is instructed; obeying them brings much reward.
Chapter 40
FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17
Diyos.
