john 3:19 4:48
Chapter 3
- 1
- 1 Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2
- 2
- He came to Jesus at night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you are doing unless God is with him."
- 3
- Jesus answered and said to him, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born 3 from above."
- 4
- Nicodemus said to him, "How can a person once grown old be born again? Surely he cannot reenter his mother's womb and be born again, can he?"
- 5
- Jesus answered, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.
- 6
- What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit.
- 7
- Do not be amazed that I told you, 'You must be born from above.'
- 8
- The wind 4 blows where it wills, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
- 9
- Nicodemus answered and said to him, "How can this happen?"
- 10
- Jesus answered and said to him, "You are the teacher of Israel and you do not understand this?
- 11
- Amen, amen, I say to you, we speak of what we know and we testify to what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony.
- 12
- If I tell you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
- 13
- No one has gone up to heaven except the one who has come down from heaven, the Son of Man.
- 14
- And just as Moses lifted up 5 the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
- 15
- 6 so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life."
- 16
- For God so loved the world that he gave 7 his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
- 17
- For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn 8 the world, but that the world might be saved through him.
- 18
- Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
- 19
- 9 And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil.
- 20
- For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed.
- 21
- But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.
Chapter 4
RETURN TO GALILEE /
JESUS CHRIST HEALED THE OFFICIAL'S CHILD
JESUS CHRIST HEALED THE OFFICIAL'S CHILD
- 43
- 16 After the two days, he left there for Galilee.
- 44
- 17 For Jesus himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his native place.
- 45
- When he came into Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, since they had seen all he had done in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves had gone to the feast.
- 46
- 18 Then he returned to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. Now there was a royal official whose son was ill in Capernaum.
- 47
- When he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, who was near death.
- 48
- Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe."
- 49
- The royal official said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies."
- 50
- Jesus said to him, "You may go; your son will live." The man believed what Jesus said to him and left.
- 51
- While he was on his way back, his slaves met him and told him that his boy would live.
- 52
- He asked them when he began to recover. They told him, "The fever left him yesterday, about one in the afternoon."
- 53
- The father realized that just at that time Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live," and he and his whole household came to believe.
- 54
- (Now) this was the second sign Jesus did when he came to Galilee from Judea.
Chapter 5
THE WORK OF THE SON
- 24
- Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and will not come to condemnation, but has passed from death to life.
- 25
- Amen, amen, I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.
- 26
- For just as the Father has life in himself, so also he gave to his Son the possession of life in himself.
- 27
- And he gave him power to exercise judgment, because he is the Son of Man.
- 28
- 11 Do not be amazed at this, because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
- 29
- and will come out, those who have done good deeds to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked deeds to the resurrection of condemnation.
Chapter 14
CONDUCT OF INVITED GUEST AND HOSTS
- 7
- 4 He told a parable to those who had been invited, noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table.
- 8
- "When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet, do not recline at table in the place of honor. A more distinguished guest than you may have been invited by him,
- 9
- and the host who invited both of you may approach you and say, 'Give your place to this man,' and then you would proceed with embarrassment to take the lowest place.
- 10
- Rather, when you are invited, go and take the lowest place so that when the host comes to you he may say, 'My friend, move up to a higher position.' Then you will enjoy the esteem of your companions at the table.
- 11
- For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."
- 12
- Then he said to the host who invited him, "When you hold a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you back and you have repayment.
- 13
- Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind;
- 14
- blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
THE PARABLE OF THE GREAT FEAST
- 15
- 5 One of his fellow guests on hearing this said to him, "Blessed is the one who will dine in the kingdom of God."
- 16
- He replied to him, "A man gave a great dinner to which he invited many.
- 17
- When the time for the dinner came, he dispatched his servant to say to those invited, 'Come, everything is now ready.'
- 18
- But one by one, they all began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, 'I have purchased a field and must go to examine it; I ask you, consider me excused.'
- 19
- And another said, 'I have purchased five yoke of oxen and am on my way to evaluate them; I ask you, consider me excused.'
- 20
- And another said, 'I have just married a woman, and therefore I cannot come.'
- 21
- The servant went and reported this to his master. Then the master of the house in a rage commanded his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in here the poor and the crippled, the blind and the lame.'
- 22
- The servant reported, 'Sir, your orders have been carried out and still there is room.'
- 23
- The master then ordered the servant, 'Go out to the highways and hedgerows and make people come in that my home may be filled.
- 24
- For, I tell you, none of those men who were invited will taste my dinner.'"
- 25
- 6 Great crowds were traveling with him, and he turned and addressed them,
- 26
- "If any one comes to me without hating his father 7 and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
- 27
- Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
- 28
- Which of you wishing to construct a tower does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if there is enough for its completion?
- 29
- Otherwise, after laying the foundation and finding himself unable to finish the work the onlookers should laugh at him
- 30
- and say, 'This one began to build but did not have the resources to finish.'
- 31
- Or what king marching into battle would not first sit down and decide whether with ten thousand troops he can successfully oppose another king advancing upon him with twenty thousand troops?
- 32
- But if not, while he is still far away, he will send a delegation to ask for peace terms.
- 33
- In the same way, everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.
- 34
- 8 "Salt is good, but if salt itself loses its taste, with what can its flavor be restored?
- 35
- It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear."
THE WISDOM BOOKS AND EVANGELIZATIONS
Chapter 113
- 1
- Hallelujah! 1 Praise, you servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
- 2
- Blessed be the name of the LORD both now and forever.
- 3
- From the rising of the sun to its setting let the name of the LORD be praised.
- 4
- High above all nations is the LORD; above the heavens God's glory.
- 5
- Who is like the LORD, our God enthroned on high,
- 6
- looking down on heaven and earth?
- 7
- The LORD raises the needy from the dust, lifts the poor from the ash heap,
- 8
- Seats them with princes, the princes of the people,
- 9
- Gives the childless wife a home, the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah!
Chapter 114
- 1
- 1 When Israel came forth from Egypt, the house of Jacob from an alien people,
- 2
- Judah became God's holy place, Israel, God's domain.
- 3
- 2 The sea beheld and fled; the Jordan turned back.
- 4
- The mountains skipped like rams; the hills, like lambs of the flock.
- 5
- Why was it, sea, that you fled? Jordan, that you turned back?
- 6
- You mountains, that you skipped like rams? You hills, like lambs of the flock?
- 7
- Tremble, earth, before the Lord, before the God of Jacob,
- 8
- 3 Who turned rock into pools of water, stone into flowing springs.
Chapter 128
- 1
- 1 A song of ascents. 2 Happy are all who fear the LORD, who walk in the ways of God.
- 2
- What your hands provide you will enjoy; you will be happy and prosper:
- 3
- Like a fruitful vine your wife within your home, Like olive plants your children around your table.
- 4
- Just so will they be blessed who fear the LORD.
- 5
- May the LORD bless you from Zion, all the days of your life That you may share Jerusalem's joy
- 6
- and live to see your children's children. Peace upon Israel!
FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE

EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17
