Ephesians
Chapter 4 RENEWAL IN CHRIST / RULES FOR THE NEW LIFE

1: ¹ I, then, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received,
2: with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love,
3: striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace:
4: ² one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call;
5: one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6: one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
7: But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.
8: Therefore, it says: "He ascended ³ on high and took prisoners captive; he gave gifts to men."
9: What does "he ascended" mean except that he also descended into the lower (regions) of the earth?
10: The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
11: ⁴ And he gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers,
12: to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, ⁵ for building up the body of Christ,
13: until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, ⁶ to the extent of the full stature of Christ,
14: so that we may no longer be infants, tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching arising from human trickery, from their cunning in the interests of deceitful scheming.
15: Rather, living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ, ⁷
16: from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each part, brings about the body's growth and builds itself up in love.
17: ⁸ So I declare and testify in the Lord that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds;
18: darkened in understanding, alienated from the life of God because of their ignorance, because of their hardness of heart,
19: they have become callous and have handed themselves over to licentiousness for the practice of every kind of impurity to excess.
20: That is not how you learned Christ,
21: assuming that you have heard of him and were taught in him, as truth is in Jesus,
22: that you should put away the old self of your former way of life, corrupted through deceitful desires,
23: and be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
24: and put on ⁹ the new self, created in God's way in righteousness and holiness of truth.
25: ¹⁰ Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak the truth, each one to his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
26: Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun set on your anger, ¹¹
27: and do not leave room for the devil.
28: The thief must no longer steal, but rather labor, doing honest work ¹² with his (own) hands, so that he may have something to share with one in need.
29: No foul language should come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for needed edification, that it may impart grace to those who hear.
30: And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption. ¹³
31: All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice.
32: (And) be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.

Ephesians
Chapter 5 DUTY TO LIVE IN THE LIGHT

1: So be imitators of God, ¹ as beloved children,
2: and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.
3: Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among holy ones,
4: no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving.
5: Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6: Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. ²
7: So do not be associated with them.
8: For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light,
9: for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.
10: Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
11: Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,
12: for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;
13: but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
14: for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says: "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light." ³
15: ⁴ Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise,
16: making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil.
17: Therefore, do not continue in ignorance, but try to understand what is the will of the Lord.
18: And do not get drunk on wine, in which lies debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
19: addressing one another (in) psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,
20: giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.

2 Corinthians
Chapter 5 OUR FUTURE DESTINY

1: For we know that if our earthly dwelling, ¹ a tent, should be destroyed, we have a building from God, a dwelling not made with hands, eternal in heaven.
2: ² For in this tent we groan, longing to be further clothed with our heavenly habitation
3: if indeed, when we have taken it off, ³ we shall not be found naked.
4: For while we are in this tent we groan and are weighed down, because we do not wish to be unclothed ⁴ but to be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
5: Now the one who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a first installment. ⁵
6: ⁶ So we are always courageous, although we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord,
7: for we walk by faith, not by sight.
8: Yet we are courageous, and we would rather leave the body and go home to the Lord.
9: Therefore, we aspire to please him, whether we are at home or away.
10: For we must all appear ⁷ before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive recompense, according to what he did in the body, whether good or evil.
11: ⁸ Therefore, since we know the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade others; but we are clearly apparent to God, and I hope we are also apparent to your consciousness.
12: We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you an opportunity to boast of us, so that you may have something to say to those who boast of external appearance rather than of the heart.
13: For if we are out of our minds, ⁹ it is for God; if we are rational, it is for you.
14: ¹⁰ For the love of Christ impels us, once we have come to the conviction that one died for all; therefore, all have died.
15: He indeed died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
16: Consequently, ¹¹ from now on we regard no one according to the flesh; even if we once knew Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him so no longer.
17: So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.
18: ¹² And all this is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and given us the ministry of reconciliation,
19: namely, God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
20: So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
21: ¹³ For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him

2 Corinthians
Chapter 6 THE EXPERIENCE OF THE MINISTRY / CALL TO HOLINESS

1: ¹ ² Working together, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.
2: For he says: "In an acceptable time ³ I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
3: We cause no one to stumble ⁴ in anything, in order that no fault may be found with our ministry;
4: ⁵ ⁶ on the contrary, in everything we commend ourselves as ministers of God, through much endurance, in afflictions, hardships, constraints,
5: beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, vigils, fasts;
6: ⁷ by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, in a holy spirit, in unfeigned love,
7: in truthful speech, in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness at the right and at the left;
8: through glory and dishonor, insult and praise. We are treated as deceivers and yet are truthful; ⁸
9: as unrecognized and yet acknowledged; as dying and behold we live; as chastised and yet not put to death;
10: as sorrowful yet always rejoicing; as poor yet enriching many; as having nothing and yet possessing all things.
11: ⁹ We have spoken frankly to you, Corinthians; our heart is open wide.
12: You are not constrained by us; you are constrained by your own affections.
13: As recompense in kind (I speak as to my children), be open yourselves.
14: ¹⁰ ¹¹ Do not be yoked with those who are different, with unbelievers. For what partnership do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
15: What accord has Christ with Beliar? Or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?
16: What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said: "I will live with them and move among them, ¹² and I will be their God and they shall be my people.
17: Therefore, come forth from them and be separate," says the Lord, "and touch nothing unclean; then I will receive you
18: and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."

Luke
Chapter 16 THE PARABLE OF THE DISHONEST STEWARD

1: ¹ Then he also said to his disciples, "A rich man had a steward who was reported to him for squandering his property.
2: He summoned him and said, 'What is this I hear about you? Prepare a full account of your stewardship, because you can no longer be my steward.'
3: The steward said to himself, 'What shall I do, now that my master is taking the position of steward away from me? I am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg.
4: I know what I shall do so that, when I am removed from the stewardship, they may welcome me into their homes.'
5: He called in his master's debtors one by one. To the first he said, 'How much do you owe my master?'
6: ² He replied, 'One hundred measures of olive oil.' He said to him, 'Here is your promissory note. Sit down and quickly write one for fifty.'
7: Then to another he said, 'And you, how much do you owe?' He replied, 'One hundred kors ³ of wheat.' He said to him, 'Here is your promissory note; write one for eighty.'
8: ⁴ And the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently. ⁵ "For the children of this world are more prudent in dealing with their own generation than are the children of light.
9: I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth, ⁶ so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
10: ⁷ The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones; and the person who is dishonest in very small matters is also dishonest in great ones.
11: If, therefore, you are not trustworthy with dishonest wealth, who will trust you with true wealth?
12: If you are not trustworthy with what belongs to another, who will give you what is yours?
13: No servant can serve two masters. ⁸ He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

Luke
Chapter 2 THE BIRTH OF JESUS

1: ¹ In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus ² that the whole world should be enrolled.
2: This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
3: So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town.
4: And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
5: to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
6: While they were there, the time came for her to have her child,
7: and she gave birth to her firstborn son. ³ She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8: ⁴ Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock.
9: The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear.
10: The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
11: ⁵ For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.
12: And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger."
13: And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
14: ⁶ "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."
15: When the angels went away from them to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go, then, to Bethlehem to see this thing that has taken place, which the Lord has made known to us."

1: ¹ For the leader. Of David, the servant of the LORD.

¹⁷Sa pangalan ng Panginoon, ito ang sinasabi ko sa inyo: huwag na kayong mamuhay tulad ng pamumuhay ng mga walang pananampalataya sa Diyos.
