The Signs of the End
Luke
Chapter 21:25-28
The Coming of the Son of Man
26People will die of fright in anticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
27And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.”
Ephesians
Chapter 5:1-20
Duty to Live in the Light
1So be imitators of God, as beloved children,
2and live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.
3Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is fitting among holy ones,
4no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place, but instead, thanksgiving.
5Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient.
7So do not be associated with them.
8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light,
9for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.
10Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
11Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness; rather expose them,
12for it is shameful even to mention the things done by them in secret;
13but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
14for everything that becomes visible is light. Therefore, it says:
“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”
15 Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise,
16making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil.
17Therefore, do not continue in ignorance, but try to understand what is the will of the Lord.
18And do not get drunk on wine, in which lies debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
19addressing one another [in] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,
20giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.

Advice to the Community

Chapter 2:18-23
Antichrists
18Children, it is the last hour;
and just as you heard that the antichrist was coming, so now many
antichrists have appeared. Thus we know this is the last hour.
19They went out from us, but they were not really of our number; if they had been, they would have remained with us. Their desertion shows that none of them was of our number.
20But you have the anointing that comes from the holy one,* and you all have knowledge.
21I write to you not because you do not know the truth but because you do, and because every lie is alien to the truth.
22 Who is the liar? Whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Whoever denies the Father and the Son, this is the antichrist.
23No one who denies the Son has the Father, but whoever confesses the Son has the Father as well.

Chapter 13:3-8
The Signs of the End
3 As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple area, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,
4“Tell us, when will this happen, and what sign will there be when all these things are about to come to an end?”
5Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one deceives you.
6Many will come in my name saying, ‘I am he,’ and they will deceive many.
7When you hear of wars and reports of wars do not be alarmed; such things must happen, but it will not yet be the end.
8Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes from place to place and there will be famines. These are the beginnings of the labor pains.
4“Tell us, when will this happen, and what sign will there be when all these things are about to come to an end?”
5Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one deceives you.

The Coming of the Son of Man
25“There will be signs in
the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be in
dismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
27And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.”

Chapter 13:1-7
Obedience in Authority
1Let every person be
subordinate to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except
from God, and those that exist have been established by God.
2Therefore, whoever resists authority opposes what God has appointed, and those who oppose it will bring judgment upon themselves.
3For rulers are not a cause of fear to good conduct, but to evil. Do you wish to have no fear of authority? Then do what is good and you will receive approval from it,
4for it is a servant of God for your good. But if you do evil, be afraid, for it does not bear the sword without purpose; it is the servant of God to inflict wrath on the evildoer.
5Therefore, it is necessary to be subject not only because of the wrath but also because of conscience.
6This is why you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
7Pay to all their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, toll to whom toll is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
2Therefore, whoever resists authority opposes what God has appointed, and those who oppose it will bring judgment upon themselves.

Advice to the Community
5Likewise,
you younger members, be subject to the presbyters. And all of you,
clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for:
“God opposes the proud
but bestows favor on the humble.”
6So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
7Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.
8Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour.
9Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your fellow believers throughout the world undergo the same sufferings.
10The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little.
11To him be dominion forever. Amen.
12I write you this briefly through Silvanus, whom I consider a faithful brother, exhorting you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Remain firm in it.
13The chosen one* at Babylon sends you greeting, as does Mark, my son.
14Greet one another with a loving kiss. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

God Defends Zion
1For the leader; a psalm with stringed instruments. A song of Asaph.
whose name is great in Israel.
3On Salem* is God’s tent, his shelter on Zion.
4There the flashing arrows were shattered,
shield, sword, and weapons of war.b
stronger than the ancient mountains.*
6Despoiled are the stouthearted;
they sank into sleep;
the hands of all the men of valor have failed.c
7At your roar, O God of Jacob,
chariot and steed lay still.
8You, terrible are you;
who can stand before you and your great anger?d
9From the heavens you pronounced sentence;
the earth was terrified and reduced to silence,
10When you arose, O God, for judgment
to save the afflicted of the land.
the remnant of your furor will keep your feast.
May all around him bring gifts to the one to be feared,
13Who checks the spirit of princes,
who is fearful to the kings of earth.

EFESO 4:17-18 5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
17Sa
